A. The Mighty Acorns Board: Members of the Board will consist of one chairperson from each Task Force, other at-large representatives, a CW Representative (Steering Committee or Coordinating Group), and at least one teacher and one volunteer representative. One Board member must serve as chair of the Board for his/her term. One Board member must serve as the liaison to the Chicago Wilderness Education Team. Each member’s term will be two years.

B. Task Forces: Coordinating Partner organizations will provide a representative for one or more Task Forces. The term of rotation is the same as the Board, two year staggered. The members of Task Forces may also include Mighty Acorns General Partners, teachers, and volunteers. Each Task Force will have at least one chairperson. This chairperson serves on the Board and communicates the progress of their group to the Board. Each Task Force has its own responsibilities as detailed below.

Communication Task Force: This group provides communication/information to partners, teachers, volunteers, and the public at large. Communication tools such as The Seedling newsletter, the Mighty Acorns website, and electronic mailing list will be primary responsibilities of this group. The task force will also house, distribute, and update brochures, press packets and the display.

Curriculum & Assessment Task Force: This task force updates and revises the Mighty Acorns Manual and provides opportunities for partners to share supplemental materials. The group assesses the quality of the current curriculum and coordinates the creation of additional components of the curriculum.

Mighty Acorns Nature Camp Task Force: This group coordinates the Mighty Acorns Nature Camp for all partners. This includes logistics, curriculum, and fundraising for the Mighty Acorns Camp.

Professional Development & Networking Task Force: This group provides the framework for partner meetings and the annual retreat and manages professional development needs of the partners, teachers and volunteers. They also facilitate training and mentoring of new partners.

C. Mighty Acorns Assistant: The assistant maintains communication among partners, recruits new partners, coordinates fundraising opportunities, manages the supporting grant for the overall program, serves as primary contact for the program and partnership, attends all task force and board meetings, assists each task force as needed and provides general support for the program and partnership.
